Co-op News

Shop, savor, explore and pull up a seat by our roaring fire — there's no place like Weavers Way Mercantile for the holidays!

The Mercantile is OPEN through December 30, 2018 ONLY!

Come see us Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Nov. 23-25, Nov. 30-Dec. 2, Dec. 7-9, Dec. 28-30, and every day Dec. 14-Christmas Eve. You can always email or call: / 215-843-2350, ext. 288.

The Mercantile is an extended pop-up shop in the raw space of an old garage at 542 Carpenter Lane in Mt. Airy. It’s a home and garden store, built out as an expansion of the Co-op’s general merchandise, housewares and floral departments. You’ll find urban homesteading supplies, hard goods, tools for indoors and out, well-crafted artisanal gifts, sustainably sourced Christmas trees, holiday decorations, vintage and up-cycled small furnishings, artwork and more — all put together with a few good surprises and a little bit of pure frivolity.

Who needs more stuff? More stuff isn’t what this is about. Instead, come find something long lasting, meaningful and genuinely useful.

Is your interest in living sustainably growing? Are you experimenting with cooking from scratch, preserving homegrown foods or making your own cheese or soap? Do you want to share your experience making things for the people you love? The Mercantile has what you need and what you need to give, including carefully selected books, bulk herbs and beeswax, live plants, kitchen gear, and all the best containers, pots, jars and tins.

With a little help from the homesteading pros, this can be the summer you turn both of your thumbs green! From volunteer days where you can learn techniques firsthand from the Weavers Way farmers, to workshops that will remake your kitchen into a DIY hub, Weavers Way will have you sprouting into a master of the domestic arts this season.

Beginning Tuesday, May 5, Co-op members 65 and older can take an extra 10% off almost all their purchases every Tuesday. All you have to do is fill out a form and show ID and you're all set. Here's how to get started.
